Hi everone. Does anyone know if Border Scotland ITV will be broadcast from Caldbeck/Sandale Transmitter. At the moment on anoloue B-TV Scotland ch24 B-TV England ch28. After switch over I have read BBC scotland will broadcast from the Sandale transmitter. Will B-TV Scotland be transmittered on this Mux as there is no need to transmit say BBC3/4 as they will be broadcast from from Caldbeck. Just to add that people in D&G who can receive both Scottish and English service,† Will we lose B-TV scotland.

A    The Scottish services will be transmitted on digital in this area at digital switchover. If you currently receive them in analogue you should be able to receive them in digital after switchover

There'd be uproar if the powers-that-be allowed a major site like Sandale or Caldbeck not to broadcast the full range of PSB channels (and effectively required householders to have 2 TV aerials) - so no chance of BBC3/4 being ditched - every chance that the PayTV services might not appear everywhere - last thing I read suggested that 75% of the population would get "full service" DTT (Freeview+TUTV) and the 24.something% remaining that get TV pictures now would get PSB only (Freeview, no TUTV) and those that don't get UHF today still won't get it.

Honnymons. I think you miss my point. I live in the Annan area. At the moment we get BBC 1/2 Scotland from the Sandale transmitter+ ITV Border Scotland.
As well we get BBC1/2 England  ITV Border Cumbria/IOM. CH4/5 from the Caldbeck transmitter. both transmitter are received through wideband aerials.
After switch over Mux PSB 1/2/3 (England) will be broadcast from Caldbeck along with COM 1/2/3 Giving 6 MUXs.
The Scottish side of the border is to have PSB 1 Scotland broadcast from Sandale. So I am led to believe
Question will this MUX carry ITVBorder Scotland?? As BBC3/4 wiil be transmitted on PSB1 from Caldbeck it is pointless transmit it again from Sandale.
On the Scottish side, we are far enough away from the transmitters too only need one aerial for both transmitters

Perhaps I did miss the point - but you were a little vague in your original post about your exact situation......

See http://www.ukfree.tv/shutdowndetail.php?tx=NY299425 for Caldbeck and http://www.ukfree.tv/shutdowndetail.php?tx=NY266399 for Sandale

Suggesting that Caldbeck will be a full-service site providing all multiplexes and Sandale will provide at least "Scottish" variants of Multiplex 1 & Multiplex B.
