With many hundeds of thousands of aerials around the country needing changing what can be done with the old ones?

This would be an environmental disaster if thousands of square feet of landfill were taken up the these metal twigs.

I demand that the government start an official recycling scheme for aerials.  Has any council addressed this directly, has the industry?

In the mean time what are aerials  made of so I can take to my local dump and put in the correct skip?

Judging by the way some clearly rust and others of a similar vintage are still reasonably untarnished it seems that like 'tin' cans there are different ones out there - aluminium alloys and steel.

So you might in your fancy Galashiels - have to skip the country to do any visits to the household waste recovery centre here (ok I could drive all the way to Langlee, but it's half the distance to either Berwick or Wooler tips) - mind you they both have a mixed metal skip Cheesy
