Quote
The BBC and Arqiva have concluded contract negotiations for the design, deployment, and operation of its new high-power digital terrestrial television (DTT) network which will replace both the BBC's analogue television networks and the current low-power DTT network.  Arqiva will also build and operate additional transmitters to expand the coverage of the BBC's DAB digital radio network, with the possibility of up to a further 160 new DAB transmitters being ordered in the coming years.

Of course as now the information regarding any planning is likely to be treated as an ultra-top secret by the BBC & Arqiva.....

Thanks for confirming my fears! Despite my optimism re life, 2023 is pushing it!

If I do want to listen to digital radio, I use my Sky subscription (which is fine if you have Sky of course) and can route the signal into my Hi-Fi amplifier. However, I wish there was a way of blanking the screen when listening to a radio chanel. While I believe the old problem of screen burn-in doesn't really exist now, it can't be good for the TV to display a steady picture for hours on end.

You do not need a Sky subscription to listen to the radio channels. They are virtually all free to air and can be listened to on any digital satellite receiver - not just a sky box.

The exception are the Music Choice channels which are scrambled. All the "normal" radio channels are free though

You soon get to know the channel numbers of the stations you listen to regularly so just turn the TV off Smiley
