Building on Analoguesat's comments - the idea of an acceptable picture is subjective - to me acceptable is a full colour grain-free ghost-free image on analogue - I know others will accept some graining and ghosting, hence most digital sources drive me around the bend (massive artifacts, smearing etc). My quest for the perfect analogue picture clearly leaves me in a good spot for digital, but perhaps not many of my neighbours

Remember the only commitment that DigitalUK have is that 98.5% of the population will continue to be able to get the basic channels using a rooftop aerial post switch off - there is no stipulation that the 98.5% of the population will be the
same 98.5% of the population - so there could be nearly 1 million unhappy campers and conversely 1 million newly happy campers come analogue switchoff just through that 1.5% of the populace, not counting the Luddites that seem determined to live on in an analogue world.
